About

Jax is a 9 year-old Cairn terrier whose life was disrupted in a major way when his family surrendered him. They must have cared for him because he’s very sweet, walks well on leash and is housebroken. Jax loves everyone he meets, and gets really excited when it’s walk time. He even will do A-roos (which is Cairn for Hoots mon!).

Jax is a mature gentleman who will pick out just one toy and claim it, but he’s not a big toy guy. He gets along fine with little Hansel, his foster brother Westie, and the resident Yorkie.

The vet pronounced Jax to be in great shape, even down to his teeth. Jax gets excited when he sees the leash come out, as he loves to walk. He likes a nice car ride, too. Jax will require a secure, fenced in backyard and must be watched because he’s a strong digger and might decide to dig out under a fence. His prey drive is as pronounced as any other terrier—meaning strong.

Jax sleeps pretty well in his crate but definitely prefers sleeping with his people. He will need some training on his commands (sit, stay, down, etc).

Jax would continue to thrive in a household that is somewhat on the quiet side with someone who is home a good portion of the day or week. This little guy is sweet, just a bit unsure of himself, but has adapted quite well in his foster home. The successful adopter must travel by car to the foster home. If Jax sounds like your boy please fill out the adoption application if you haven’t already.
